How Do I Store My Haute Chili Oil?
Since there are no preservatives, your chili oil will need to be refrigerated after opening.
How Spicy is Your Fire Chili Oil?
The name says it all! FIRE is derived from our OG Hot Chili Oil. It’s a combination of three spices. The first is a secret (hey, we have to have a little mystery), the second is ghost pepper, which rings in at 1 million Scoville Heat Units, and the third is Carolina Reaper, reaching 2 million Scoville Heat Units. What the what?! If you’re not familiar, the Scoville scale measures the heat or spiciness, technically called pungency, of chili peppers and is recorded as Scoville Heat Units (SHU). 100,000 SHU is considered “very highly pungent,” or in layman or laywoman’s terms, HOT. The mixture of our three spices brings our Fire Chili Oil to about 500,000 SHU. For reference, Huy Fong Sriracha claims to clock in at 2,200 SHU.
Where is Haute Chili Oil Made?
Haute Chili Oil is made in Canada in Richmond, British Columbia. We were lucky to find and work with a local co-packer who cares about quality as much as we do. They took the time and effort to make the best possible version of our original, family recipe - dare we say, they may have even made it a little bit better (sorry, mom). It took months of back and forth, finding and trying different ingredients, sampling numerous variations, and getting the garlic perfect and crispy enough to meet Haute Foods’ standards.
Are There any Preservatives?
Nope, none! Haute Chili Oil is all natural with no added preservatives or impossible to pronounce ingredients. We don’t even add salt, sugar, or MSG. Only the best for our fellow chili lovers!
What Can I Eat Haute Chili Oil With?
You can eat Haute Chili Oil with everything and it complements any type of cuisine, because it doesn’t alter the taste of your food. Our personal favourites are adding it to pasta, rice, and noodles, or using it as a topping on pizza, tacos, and poutines.
Will Haute Chili Oil Change the Taste of My Food?
Nope! Haute Chili Oil doesn’t change the taste of your food. It’s so versatile, because it acts as an enhancer and elevates whatever dish you add it to by giving your meal heat, as well as texture and flavour from the crispy garlic. Consider it food’s perfect accessory.
